Applanation Tonometer

AT-1 is based on Goldmann applanation tonometry and is designed for use with TAKAGI slit lamps. AT-1 (R-type) provides rapid, secure, and accurate intraocular pressure (IOP) measurement necessary for the diagnosis of glaucoma, ocular hypertension, and retinal detachment.

In ophthalmology, Takagi’s applanation tonometer is a vital instrument to measure pressure inside the eye, which is a crucial diagnosis of glaucoma. To find the pressure required to applanate, or flatten, the cornea, this apparatus flattens a small portion of the cornea. The most commonly used, the Goldmann tonometer, is known for its reliability and precision.

When it comes to measuring intraocular pressure, Goldmann applanation tonometry is the method of choice. Applanation tonometers help with glaucoma diagnosis and monitoring, and vision preservation by giving accurate readings. Using this instrument regularly is crucial for complete eye care.
